First, an apology, as I wanted to do a full-blown weekend preview but got busy with several other projects. But I wanted to get the ATS Standings posted because a lot of people seek out this information.
Heading into last week, there were five teams unbeaten against the spread, but the Patriots were the only one to stay undefeated (barely, with a late fumble return for a TD to beat the Browns 34-17 as a 16-point favorite) as the Cowboys, Packers, Cardinals and Titans all failed to cover for the first time this season.
At the bottom of the standings, the Bears and Rams both got off the schneid to leave the Broncos, Ravens and Saints are the only teams without a point-spread cover.
Strangely enough, all the teams that entered last week at 2-2 vs. the spread and played (Colts, Panthers, Giants, Browns and Bills) all covered. The Raiders were idle.
The late TD in the Patriots-Browns game also sent the game over the total, giving the Browns the league's only 5-0 record with the over. The Raiders are 4-0 with the over, while the Patriots and Cowboys (who meet Sunday with a total of 52.5) are both 4-1 with the over, as are the Chargers and Broncos.
Reading the final column backward, we can see that the top under teams are the Redskins and Titans at 4-0, the Vikings at 3-0-1, and the Falcons, Seahawks, Chiefs, 49ers and Rams at 4-1.

NFL Betting Trends

Underdogs and favorites split the 14 games last week at 7-7 against the spread, but dogs still lead for the year at 42-29-5.
Home teams were 8-6 against the spread to hold a slight edge at 37-34-5.
The subset of home underdogs was 3-2 against the spread and is at 17-9 (65.4 percent) on the season. This week's home dogs are the Chiefs +3 vs. the Bengals, Jets +3 vs. the Eagles, Cowboys +6 vs. the Patriots and Falcons +3 vs. the Giants.
Double-digit dogs, another subset that's usually profitable, are just 2-5 this season. This week's only big dog is the Raiders +10 vs. the Chargers as the Rams' line vs. the Ravens looks like it will end up closer to 9, but that's in a subset of underdogs between 7.5 and 9.5 that are 6-3 against the spread.
The NFC has held its own in interconference play as it's actually 10-9-3, but if you still think the AFC is superior from top the bottom, this week's plays would be Jets +3 vs. the Eagles, Ravens -9 vs. the Rams, Titans +2.5 vs. the Buccaneers, and the Patriots -5.5 vs. the Cowboys.
Teams before their bye are 7-7 against the spread while teams after their bye are 2-2.
After spliting 7-7 last week, unders still lead 39-36-1.
